Do Parisians Dress Better than Americans?
/One of my favorite things about my trip to Paris was the fashion. As cliché as it may sound, the style of Parisians is just…well, in my non-expert opinion, better. The vast majority of the people I saw throughout the day were exceptionally well dressed. That was definitely different than what I am accustomed to in The States.
As a result I was really intrigued and drawn to the style culture in the city. It seemed as if everyone put effort into getting dressed to leave the house. It could have been to go to work, grab some groceries from the neighborhood market, or just to walk the dog. The scenes at the cafes looked like movie sets with characters that had been dressed by professional stylists. I had never before seen that many men in one place dressed in perfectly tailored suits. And they seemed to just be hanging out going about what I would assume is their typical day.
There was no shortage of sartorial inspiration in Paris and one look in particular caught my eye. The concept of matching my socks to my tie had occurred to me before but I hadn’t ever actually executed it. So when I got back to The States and saw this pair of socks and this knit tie I decided to give it a try.
I have had this suit for a while and I really like the way the burgundy looks against the gray.
I am still getting used to these Edward Green shoes and finding the best trouser combination for them. They are very sleek and I don’t know how much I like wearing them with trousers that have cuffs (even though I have been putting cuffs on all of my trousers as of late). I think they work well with this look though. Let me know your thoughts on the shoes and the entire look. And for anyone that’s been to Paris, Do you think Parisians dress better? Let me know!
